Gonna Try Sales

In the newsletter, you saw our plans for Consulting Stance in 2010.  For me, personally, this year might well be called Fear Factor.  I'm going to get over myself and try some things that I've never really tried before -- like sales.  I'm going to pick up the phone and call companies who might want to buy our training kits, instead of sitting back and waiting for sales through our various partners.

Go ahead.  Tell me how hard it will be.  Tell me how many rejections I'll have to hear before one person says, "Maybe."

It was this or train for a marathon and I decided this would be harder.

Gonna Provide Clarity!

In working with clients for more than a decade now, it's finally dawned on me that the one thing they keep telling me they value more than anything is the fast and immediate clarity they get as a result of working with me. I've come up with a number of products and services that help people do everything from build a business to find their marketing messages, but it's all about the clarity, in the end.

So I am revamping my business orientation to be all about clarity and how to get it faster and easier. It's simpler, it gets all kinds of new business results - and I get to write a book about it! (Revamp my business and write a new breakthrough book or change the tires on my business car while barreling down the freeway at high speed... hmmm... that's a choice to think about...and since I can't decide, I'll just do both!) ;+)

Here's to the most amazing year EVER! ;+)

The value of a business is measured by...

...

I have found in working in various industries that the value of a business can be measured by alot more than revenue, customers or product initiatives. In my opinion you can tell what your business is worth by answering these 2 questions:

1. Would someone else buy my business from me?
2. How much would they pay to have it?

Revenue generation and growth are hard to achieve simultaneously. In telecom a company would need to build their network before they could place customers on it, or else their phones and data centers wont work. ConsultingStance I believe is in a position where you can hit the phones and put the customers on. The "network" is built.

2010 is the year where you take the next step with this business and watch the results pour in. Sales is the fun part! That means 2010 will be a very exciting year.
